Policy Navigation & Statutory Index
01.Pre-Purchase Sizing, Styling & Fabric Consultation
Please contact us before checkout if you feel unsure about the fabric, styling, fit, or sizing of our garments. Technical safari apparel, bush shirts, quick-dry ventilation gear, heavy-duty cargo pants, and outfitter fleece jackets vary in silhouette across Unisex, Men’s, and Ladies’ cuts.
To prevent sizing inconveniences and unnecessary courier logistics, our sales team is directly available via WhatsApp at +27 82 761 8364 or email at info@kampvuursafaris.co.za to provide exact garment dimension charts, fabric swatches information, and fit recommendations prior to final order submission.
02.Statutory Right to Return Goods (CPA §20 & ECTA §44)
Under South African law, consumers possess distinct statutory return rights governing e-commerce purchases and unexamined goods:
- Section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (“ECTA”): You are legally entitled to cancel without reason and without penalty any electronic transaction for standard physical goods purchased through our website within 7 (seven) days of delivery of the goods. In terms of Section 44(2) of ECTA, the customer is responsible for the direct courier fee of returning the item to our logistics depot.
- Section 20 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (“CPA”): Where goods were delivered that the consumer did not have an opportunity to examine prior to delivery, the consumer may return the goods within 10 (ten) business days if they do not match the reasonably contemplated type or quality, or within 10 (ten) business days if purchased via direct marketing.
- Kampvuur Safaris Extended 30-Day Outfitter Window: As a commitment to superior customer care, we voluntarily extend the return window for standard catalog outfitter gear to 30 (thirty) calendar days from delivery for store credit or exchange, provided the garment is completely unworn, unwashed, in original condition with all swing tags and factory seals intact.
- Packaging & Repacking Charges (CPA §20(6)): In terms of Section 20(6) of the CPA, if the returned goods are opened but remain in their original packaging, no handling fee is charged. If the goods are returned in damaged, mutilated, or missing original packaging necessitating repackaging for sale, a reasonable administrative repackaging fee of up to 10% may be deducted from the refund.
03.Faulty or Damaged Garments & 10 Working-Day Replacement SLA
In the unlikely event of your garment or equipment arriving faulty, torn, or damaged from our workshop or courier partners:
The 10 Working-Day Replacement Commitment:
We will schedule a return collection and dispatch a verified replacement within ten (10) working days of your claim being verified by our customer care team.
Where a return is necessitated by a product defect or transit damage, Kampvuur Safaris covers 100% of the return courier and replacement delivery costs. You will not be charged any logistics fees for defective items.
04.Mandatory 2-Day (48-Hour) Delivery Inspection Protocol
Under Section 19 of the CPA, consumers have a duty to examine goods upon delivery. To enable us to hold our domestic and international express courier carriers strictly accountable for in-transit incidents:
Returns for refunds, damaged transit claims, or incorrect items dispatched must be communicated to our support desk within two (2) working days of receiving and inspecting your items.
Please contact our desk via WhatsApp (+27 82 761 8364) or email (info@kampvuursafaris.co.za) with:
- Your Order Number (e.g.
KVS-ORD-XXXX); - Clear photographs of the courier waybill sticker on the exterior parcel;
- Clear photographs of the outer box condition and the specific defect, incorrect item, or damage.
Note: Latent manufacturing defects that cannot be identified upon initial physical inspection remain protected under the 6-month CPA statutory warranty described in Section 07.
05.Replacement Hierarchy & 100% Product Cost Refund Terms
Our remedial process follows a strict hierarchy designed to restore your order promptly:
Our priority is delivering the exact field gear you ordered. We will issue a replacement item from workshop inventory within our 10-working-day SLA.
Should we not be able to offer you suitable replacement items or correct sizes for your returned garments, we will refund your purchase at 100% of your product costs, excluding original delivery fees (unless the return is due to our dispatch error or a verified defect under CPA §56, in which case delivery costs are also 100% refunded).
06.Branded, Embroidered & Custom Garments Strict Exclusion
Branded items (embroidered, screen-printed, laser-engraved, or customized with company names, game lodge insignia, personal monograms, or specific safari expedition dates) are NOT eligible for returns, exchanges, or refunds for change-of-mind or incorrect sizing choices.
- Statutory Exclusion: Under Section 20(3)(b) of the CPA, the consumer right to return goods does not apply if goods have been made to user specifications, personalized, or altered. Under Section 44(2)(a) of the ECTA, the 7-day cooling-off period does not apply to goods made to consumer specifications or clearly personalized.
- Approval Invariant: Prior to production, a digital proof or embroidery mock-up will be submitted for client sign-off. Please ensure that designs, logos, pantone colors, and text for branding are double-checked, as approval of the designs confirmed with you will be deemed final, irrevocable, and accepted.
- Quality Exception: If the base garment contains an unrepairable latent material flaw under Section 55/56 of the CPA (such as defective cloth tearing under normal wear, unrelated to the embroidery), Kampvuur Safaris will replace the defective garment and re-apply the approved branding at our sole expense.
07.Six-Month Statutory Quality Warranty (Sections 55 & 56 CPA)
In strict accordance with Sections 55 and 56 of the South African Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, all physical products sold by Kampvuur Safaris carry an implied statutory warranty of quality for a period of 6 (six) months from delivery:
Statutory Remedy Triad (Consumer’s Discretion):
If an item proves to be materially defective, fails under normal field use due to faulty craftsmanship, broken seam stitching, or defective hardware within 6 months, you are entitled in terms of CPA Section 56(2) to choose between:
- A complete repair of the item at our expense;
- A replacement with a brand-new identical or equivalent item; or
- A full 100% refund of the purchase price.
Warranty Exclusions: Normal wear-and-tear, intentional abuse, barbed-wire or acacia thorn puncture tears, animal damage, improper chemical washing of specialized waxed canvas/leather, or alterations executed by unauthorized third parties are excluded from the statutory warranty.
08.Safari Expeditions & Advance Booking Cancellations (CPA §17)
Unlike standard hotel stays, private African safari expeditions, dangerous game concessions, and 1880 Pioneer safaris require exclusive concession calendar locks, dedicated 4x4 trackers, and licensed Professional Hunters (PHs).
A 50% staged deposit is required upon reservation to secure exclusive dates on our concession calendar. The remaining 50% balance is due 30 days prior to departure (South Africa Standard Time, UTC+2).
If you need to adjust your travel dates with at least 61 (sixty-one) days notice prior to scheduled departure, 100% of your deposit will be credited and transferred to alternative available dates within 12 months with zero cancellation fee (subject only to seasonal concession price adjustments, if applicable).
Under Section 17 of the CPA, advance booking cancellations are subject to a reasonable charge based on the nature of the reservation and concession commitments:
- 61+ days prior to departure: 100% credit transfer to future dates, or refund less a 15% administrative concession fee.
- 31 to 60 days prior to departure: 50% of the total expedition package price is forfeited to cover non-refundable lodge and concession locks.
- 30 days or fewer prior to departure: 100% of the total expedition fee is forfeited due to concession exclusivity commitments.
If an individual hunter in your party cannot travel due to unforeseen personal or medical reasons, you may substitute another qualified hunter at zero administrative fee, provided the new guest submits required passport and indemnity documentation at least 7 days prior to departure.
09.Shooting Range Passes & Inclement Weather Protocol
Certified shooting range passes purchased through our platform carry complete flexibility:
- Cancellations: You may cancel any unvalidated range pass up to 48 hours prior to your scheduled shoot date for a 100% full refund.
- Weather Rescheduling: In the event of severe rain, lightning, or range closure, your pass remains valid for 90 days to use on any alternative open date.
10.Step-by-Step Return Procedure & RMA System
Returning an item or lodging a claim is straightforward and effortless:

11.Refund Settlement & Banking Rails
All refunds are paid in South African Rand (ZAR) directly back to the original method of payment:
